As our eager little preschoolers enter the next stage of their Ashwood Glen journey, we increase our focus on cognitive development and introduce the inquiry-based curriculum of the IB PYP. Building on the child’s innate sense of curiosity, we encourage our learners to question and think about the stimuli around them.
Similar to toddlers, but with growing curiosity, preschoolers are exposed to patterns and basic concepts. From the alphabet to shapes, puzzles and games are the best way to engage the mind through subtle reinforcement.
Allowing our students to question and experiment as they grow, develops independent thinking coupled with the confidence and ability to tackle real-world scenarios. Students are free to work with whomever they please and spend as long as required at each station. This allows students to complete the task at hand and results in a sense of achievement and pride.
